Opening Night

Colours of Time (La Venue de l'avenir)

In 2025, nearly 30 relatives unexpectedly learn they are linked by one shared ancestor, Adèle Meunier (Suzanne Lindon, Spring, AF FFF20). The legacy awaiting them is unusual: a countryside home in Normandy, abandoned for decades and suspended in time. Four of them, Seb (Abraham Wapler), Abdel (Zinedine Soualem, Divertimento, AF FFF24), Céline (Julia Piaton, Like a Prince, AF FFF25) and Guy (Vincent Macaigne, Three friends, AF FFF25), are sent to survey the estate. They enter the property expecting routines, documents and parameters. The house replies with echoes. What starts as a property inspection becomes a stranger discovery. In the quiet of frozen rooms and forgotten objects lingers the trace of a 19th-century young woman whose story feels unfinished rather than distant. As the cousins gather fragments, the film keeps shifting between eras, drawing subtle parallels between their present and Adèle’s 19th-century life, retracing moments, emotions, and choices that still seem to reverberate today. With COLOURS OF TIME, Cédric Klapisch (Rise, AF FFF22) weaves a sensitive and luminous family saga, connecting the great history of the 19th century to our contemporary questions, where destinies echo from one generation to the next.

The Richest Woman in the World
La femme la plus riche du monde

2026 LUMIÈRE AWARDS NOMINEE (x2) - Best Actress, Best Actor OFFICIAL SELECTION - 2025 CANNES FILM FESTIVAL (Out Of Compétition) Few modern scandals have captivated France as the astonishing events surrounding Liliane Bettencourt, the billionaire heiress to the L’Oreal fortune and doyenne of Parisian society. Now writer/director Thierry Klifa has freely adapted the incredible story into a captivating dark comedy, featuring a jaw-dropping, tailor-made role for one of France’s most iconic stars.

Marianne Farrère (Isabelle Huppert), the head of the Windler Group, is the richest woman in the world. Pierre-Alain Fantin (Laurent Lafitte) is a vivacious dandy, writer and photographer. After meeting on a photo shoot, the two quickly become inseparable. Their friendship – one where Pierre-Alain is only too happy to take financial advantage – surprises, amuses, intrigues, and eventually unsettles the billionaire’s entourage and family.

Most of all, Marianne’s daughter (Marina Fois) struggles with her mother’s sudden complicity with this younger man, but her husband (André Marcon) and loyal butler (Raphaël Personnaz) share her concerns. Surreptitious queries soon transition into a private investigation, resulting in extraordinary ramifications for all involved…

With several twists too good to spoil, The Richest Woman in the World makes the most of its fabulous ensemble cast, but Huppert and Lafitte simply eat up the screen. This wildly entertaining film became an enormous box-office hit in France for good reason.

Cycle of Time
C'était mieux demain

In a small French town, Hélène (Elsa Zylberstein, At the end of the day, AF FFF25), Michel (Didier Bourdon, The Scammers, AF FFF25), and their two children live happy days, wrapped in the carefree atmosphere of the 1950s. Michel works at the bank while Hélène dedicates herself entirely to the home and family… the traditional pattern of a couple at that time.

But following a violent electric shock, the couple finds themselves suddenly in the bodies of their 2025 counterparts. They discover a modern, fast-paced world completely opposite to the one they know: new technologies, upended social codes, and redefined gender roles.

For Hélène, who has always lived in the shadow of her husband as expected, it is a revelation. She experiences independence and opportunities she never could have imagined.

For Michel, however, it is a shock: his male privileges are shattered, a true upheaval. Between fresh winds of change and nostalgic echoes of the past, this time-travel adventure takes the couple on a funny, touching, and sometimes chaotic journey that will be anything but easy.

Dog 51
Chien 51

A gripping thriller that plunges you into a Paris you don’t know (yet).

In a futuristic Paris divided by social classes, an artificial intelligence named ALMA oversees society. This supreme AI, a true statistical superpower, uses the police and an army of drones to enforce the law and track potential criminals even before they can act.

From the Île de la Cité to the suburbs, from the privileged to the forgotten, no one can escape the reach of this intelligence that governs every aspect of daily life.

When its creator is assassinated, Zem (Gilles Lellouche, Beating Hearts, AF FFF25), a jaded cop from Zone 3, is forced to team up with Salia (Adèle Exarchopoulos, Beating Hearts, AF FFF25), a brilliant investigator from Zone 2. Together, they dive into an investigation that takes them into the most secret corners of Paris, where the murder could reveal the dark secrets of the system they serve… and shake the foundations of this new world.

In the tradition of anticipation cinema, Chien 51 explores our relationship with technology, social control, and inequality.

Redress
La Réparation

Paskal Jankovski (Clovis Cornillac, King of My Castle, AF FFF24) is on the verge of earning his third Michelin star, the ultimate accolade in the world of fine dining. Just hours before the official announcement, he mysteriously disappears during a hunting trip, accompanied by his sous-chef Antoine (Julien de Saint-Jean, Lie with Me, AF FFF23), who also happens to be the partner of his daughter, Clara.

At only 20 years old, Clara (Julia de Nunez) suddenly finds herself in charge of the family restaurant. Two years later, she receives a mysterious invitation to Taiwan, leading her on a deeply personal journey that intertwines the search for truth, family legacy, and self-discovery.

Nearly ten years after his last film, Régis Wargnier (The Gate, AF FFF15) makes a remarkable return with Redressed, a work inspired by a true story: the unexplained disappearance of someone close to a family he once knew. Filmed between France and Taiwan, this film stands as both an ode to gastronomy, a meeting of cultures, a love story, and the poignant quest of a daughter seeking her missing father.

Treasure Hunters: On the Tracks of Khufu
Le secret de Kéhops

What if Egypt’s greatest treasure, the treasure of Pharaoh Khufu, were hidden in Paris?

Christian Robinson (Fabrice Luchini, The Mystery of Henri Pick, AFFF20), a flamboyant archaeologist with unorthodox methods, is convinced it is, ever since discovering a mysterious inscription during recent excavations in Cairo. Determined to decipher the clues left by Dominique Vivant Denon, the first director of the Louvre, Robinson embarks on an extraordinary treasure hunt across Paris, from the dusty archives of the Louvre to the secret chambers of the Malmaison. He brings along his daughter Isis (Julia Piaton, Like a Prince, AFFF25) and his grandson Julien (Gavril Dartevelle), driven by the audacious hope of making the greatest archaeological discovery of the 21st century right in the heart of Paris.

Directed by Barbara Schulz, the film draws inspiration from real historical events, including Napoleon’s Egyptian expedition and the treasures brought back to France, skillfully blending history with fiction.

Enzo
Enzo

The beautiful final work of the late Palme d’Or winner Laurent Cantet (The Class), brought to the screen by his longtime collaborator Robin Campillo (BPM, AF FFF18), ENZO is a tender meditation of adolescent longing, and the quiet rebellions that shape us.

16-year-old Enzo (extraordinary newcomer Eloy Pohu) has everything: a sun-drenched luxury home overlooking the Mediterranean, loving parents (Pierfrancesco Favino and Élodie Bouchez), and a future mapped toward privilege. Yet something unnameable pulls him to a different path and he commences a masonry apprenticeship, among people who work not because they choose to but because they have to.

On site he meets Vlad, a charismatic Ukrainian labourer who is facing pressure to return and fight in his country’s war against Russia. Vlad’s easy masculinity and uncertain future awaken something in the young man: he’s everything Enzo wishes he was. As their unlikely friendship deepens, Enzo will be forced to confront questions bigger than desire: about class, about duty, and about true courage.

Once Upon a Time Michel Legrand
Il était une fois Michel Legrand

“Music is life”
Once Upon a Time Michel Legrand offers a fascinating portrait of the legendary composer and celebrated jazz musician who left an indelible mark on the worlds of music and cinema. Through never-before-seen archival footage and interviews with admirers and friends, including Barbra Streisand, the film celebrates the man who brought French music to the world stage. Audiences are captivated by the journey of a man who, until the very end, masterfully dedicated himself to his art.

At just 10 years old, Michel Legrand entered the Conservatoire de Paris and quickly established himself as a prodigy. Three Oscars and 75 years later, he performed for the first time at the Philharmonie de Paris to a captivated audience.

From song to cinema, this true virtuoso never stopped pushing the boundaries of his craft, composing unforgettable scores for The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Yentl, and The Thomas Crown Affair, and collaborating with legends such as Jean-Luc Godard, Dusty Springfield, Miles Davis, Jacques Demy, Charles Aznavour, Barbra Streisand, and Natalie Dessay. His energy and creativity made him one of the most acclaimed composers of the century, with melodies that continue to enchant audiences worldwide.

Presented at the Cannes Film Festival, the film blends rare archival footage, excerpts from Orson Welles’ The Other Side of the Wind, Legrand’s final composer credit, and his triumphant performance in Seville in 2018.

The Musicians
Les Musiciens

The enchanting new comedy of manners from acclaimed writer/director Grégory Magne (whose debut Perfumes was a sleeper success in 2019), THE MUSICIANS stars Valérie Donzelli as a wealthy heiress whose plan to stage a landmark concert is derailed by the clashing egos of the virtuosos recruited for the performance.

Astrid Thompson (Donzelli) is determined to honour her late industrialist father’s final wish: unite four priceless Stradivarius-stringed instruments for the premiere recital of a new composition by his favourite artist, to be live-streamed for music lovers globally. With just six days to rehearse, a quartet is assembled, but the dream quickly unravels: the musicians are at odds, blinded by their differences and prejudices, and seemingly incapable of working together. With the deadline fast approaching, Astrid tries to coax the reclusive composer of the score, Charlie Beaumont (Frédéric Pierrot), out from creative seclusion in the desperate hope of salvaging the event…

As the film crescendos to a tender, exhilarating finale where harmony is found not only in music but human connection, THE MUSICIANS celebrates both the chaos and beauty of collaboration. Set amidst the villas, vineyards and chapels of the stunning Champagne region, with an exquisite original score by Grégoire Hetzel, this is sparkling entertainment for the heart (and ears).
