School Excursions

An immersive experience for your French students

A school excursion with Alliance Francaise provides an opportunity for school students to meet native speakers, practise French outside their normal classroom environment, gain confidence and see new perspectives on francophone cultures. Our workshops are designed to be fun and engaging, and are tailored to meet each class's learning goals.

We offer three types of French immersion experiences for school groups:

- Visit the Micro-Folie exhibition at QUT Gardens Point campus (Brisbane City)

The Micro-Folie is a virtual museum exhibition displayed at The Cube at QUT Gardens Point - one of the world's largest digital interactive learning and display spaces with massive screens soaring across two storeys.

The exhibition has collections from major French cultural institutions such as the Louvre Museum, Musée d'Orsay, Philharmonie de Paris and more. Find out more about the Micro-Folie at The Cube here.

Our school excursions include a guided visit of the Micro-Folie exhibition and a chance for students to interact with the screens, plus a French language workshop to complement the museum visit.

Duration:	2 hours
Numbers:	Up to 20 students per group
Cost:	$30 per student (minimum cost of $240 per group)

- Visit the Alliance Francaise de Brisbane (West End)

A school excursion to the Alliance Francaise is like a mini trip to France without leaving Brisbane! Students can visit our French library space and meet our native French teachers.

It includes a fun French language workshop tailored to the class's level. Option to include a morning or afternoon tea with French pastries (croissant or pain au chocolat).

Duration:	2 hours
Numbers:	Up to 12 students per group
Cost:	$25 per student (minimum cost of $200 per group) (Optional pastries add-on: croissant +$4.50/student or pain au chocolat +$5/student)

- Alliance Francaise teachers visit your school

We can organise a custom workshop with our teachers held at your school's campus. Workshops are tailored according to the students' level and a theme of your choice.

Visiting the Microfolie, hosted by Alliance Française was an excellent experience for our year 10 and 11 students as it gave them the opportunity to both engage authentically with French culture and native speakers from Alliance Française. The activities run by Alliance Française were engaging and helped to build our students’ confidence to communicate and to deepen their understanding of French Culture.

The lesson/teacher encouraged us to speak in French and gave feedback on how to improve our pronunciation, which was VERY helpful. Also, I liked how we got to use our french skills in games and got to form our own conversations (in French).
