So you’ve decided you’d like to learn French. You’re an absolute beginner, and don’t know where to start. Elementary 1 is the course for
you! This course serves as a bienvenue to the French language. Throughout this course, you will discover the beauty of the French
language, and cover the basics, such as introducing yourself and others (Bonjour, je m’appelle Jean), spelling and counting (un,
deux, trois…),
and general greetings and politeness (Salut, s’il vous plait, merci beaucoup). You’ll also learn how to ask a question, how to
communicate, and explain why you are learning French.
This course is designed for complete beginners of French, and no prior knowledge is necessary. After completing this course, you can
continue your French journey and move on to Elementary 2!

You’ve come this far, and you’ve almost finished the Elementary program! Elementary 5 is designed to go deeper into aspects of topics
covered in Elementary 1-4. Touching on travel and vacations, you’ll be able to describe a holiday location and choose your accommodation (Où
est le meilleur hôtel à Québec?).
You’ll also cover the day-to-day, including talking about the weather (Il pleut depuis deux semaines), food preferences (J’aime
les fraises, mais je n’aime pas les pommes),
understanding a menu, grocery shopping (Excusez-moi, dans quelle allée se trouve le lait?), and describing sensations and
emotions (Quand je pleure, je suis triste et fatigué). Finally, you’ll practise comparing a past situation with the present (Je
jouais au golf, mais maintenant, je fais du vélo),
and discussing your reading habits.

In the final Elementary level course, it's time to take your French out on the town! Elementary 6 will help you develop the skills to
converse whilst shopping and dining out, and to plan your very own soirée. You'll be able to comment on clothes (Quelle jolie

choose an outfit, and interact with shop assistants (Vous payez par carte?). You’ll learn how to order at a restaurant (Nous
allons prendre deux verres de vin)
and describe your experience (Les plats sont délicieux, mais les serveurs ne sont pas très agréables). You’ll also organise a
social gathering (Je vous invite à fêter l'anniversaire de mon chien!), as well as discuss music, film and theatre (Je n'ai pas
aimé le dernier film avec Dany Boon, et toi?).
