About Us
The Alliance Française de Brisbane is part of the international network that promotes French language and culture outside France; primarily through the provision of language classes and the production of cultural events.
The Alliance was created in Paris on July 21, 1883, by such luminaries as the scientist Louis Pasteur, the diplomat Ferdinand de Lesseps, the writers Jules Verne and Ernest Renan, and the publisher Armand Colin.
Collectively, more than 440,000 students learn French through the Alliance Française network.
In our work to promote French culture in Australia, the Alliance Française network works closely with the French Embassy.
