OUR EXPERT - LUCIE
Born in a small town near Bordeaux, Lucie established a passion for the hospitality industry from a young age.
After graduating from Professional Hospitality School, she left the south-west of France and took her first position as a junior sommelier at "Le Gavroche", working with Michel Roux. Lucie has claimed that it was impossible not to fall in love with wine when she handled some of the best bottles in the world on a daily basis in a 2 Michelin star restaurant. She continued her love of travel and wine when she moved to The Seychelles, where she was sommelier for a fine dining restaurant in a 5-star resort. There, she gained a wealth of knowledge on New World wines and the standards of service for the Leading Hotels of the World. Thirsty to learn more about those wines yet refusing to give up the nice weather, she landed in Australia and more specifically in Sydney. Lucie had the good fortune and amazing opportunity to work for the hospitality giant Merivale, led by Master Sommelier Franck Moreau. Her four year journey with that company took her from Sommelier to Venue Manager and across iconic venues such as Mr Wong and Ms G's.
Now starting her next adventure in Brisbane, Lucie is looking forward to sharing the knowledge she has acquired from more than 10 years in the wine industry.
