Le "Concours de Chanson et de Poésie 2019" will be held on Tuesday 04 June 2019 on the Gold Coast at All Saints
from 4.00pm (Senior school library) and on Saturday 08 June 2019 at Alliance française de Brisbane from
WHAT IS THE COMPETITION ABOUT?
According to their age, children sing a song or recite a poem in front of a
jury usually composed of two French teachers. Songs and poems are learnt by heart. Pronunciation and clarity, memorisation,
interpretation and prosody are the 4 main criteria.
WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?
AFX Student Exchange is our major sponsor. It will reward the best student in the grade 9 section with a 6 week exchange program to

Other prizes rewarding the highest performing students include French books, CDs, food vouchers and more.
WHO CAN PERFORM?
The competition is open to Prep to Year 12 students of French. French-speakers can also enter the competition in the "francophone"
Prep to Year 4 students will perform a song chosen from the 2019 Song booklet.
Year 5 to Year 12 students will choose a poem from the 2019
according to their year level.

HOW DO I REGISTER?
The registration deadline is Friday 10 May 2019.
The fee is $10 per student.
Discount applies as follows: 5% discount for 20 to 49 students enrolled / 10% discount for 50 and more students enrolled.
Fill in the Purchase order form
It specifies the number of children entering the competition. Please send it back to firstname.lastname@example.org. Upon
reception an invoice will be issued and sent out to you. Alliance française will not accept any change in numbers after the invoice has
been sent out. Payment has to be forwarded to Alliance française within two weeks of the issuing date of the invoice.

WHEN IS THE PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY?
Tuesday 11 June 2019: Results for the Poetry competition will be emailed to schools and also available on the Alliance's website.
Friday 14 June: The Prize giving ceremony will be held at 4.15pm until 5.00pm at Alliance Française de Brisbane. RSVP is essential by
