Delf Junior

Enter your content DELF (Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française) and DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) are official qualifications awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the linguistic proficiency of non-native French speakers. DELF and DALF are comprised of 6 diplomas which correspond with the 6 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).

The 6 diplomas that make up DELF and DALF are completely independent. This means that candidates can register for the examination of their choice, according to their level.

              A1 DELF A1 Basic

B1 DELF B1    Independent

At each level the four core language skills are assessed:

                    >   Reading comprehension
                    >   Speaking & interaction skills
                    >   Writing skills

DELF Prim is based on the same model as DELF for adults, but with topics adapted to primary school students aged 7 to 12 years old. The junior version of DELF is aimed at secondary school students aged between 12 and 17 years old.

"Benowa State High School established the French Immersion Program in 1985, and since then we have achieved some of our proudest moments, especially over the last 3 years. Thanks to our program and also with the help of Alliance Francaise de Brisbane (the only QLD French school to conduct all diplomas issued by the French Ministry of Education), more than 50 of our students have been well prepared to sit for the DELF examination which enables students to receive internationally recognised certification of their French proficiency."
Cathryn Cooper HOD Languages & International Benowa State High School

Why sit for the DELF?

    >   It gives your child the opportunity to demonstrate their French language skills
    >   They feel rewarded for their work and motivated to reach higher levels
    >   They get used to sitting exams
    >   In France, the DELF B2 is officially recognised as a minimum requirement for undergraduate entry into French universities & Grandes Ecoles.

Why at Alliance?

The Alliance Francaise de Brisbane is the only DELF and DALF accredited examination centre in Queensland. Our DELF and DALF examiners undergo regular training and have previously completed the compulsory professional training required for CIEP accreditation. All of our examiners also teach French as a foreign language. They value each candidate and apply a can-do approach in a friendly, welcoming and reassuring evaluation.
