Level B1 objectives

Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Intermediate 2

This course is designed for students who have completed level B1 Intermediate 1 or been assessed prior to enrolling. In this course, students learn the vocabulary and language structures required to:

  • Write a more detailed resume and cover letter
  • Respond to a job advertisement
  • Talk about education-related topics: recall past work experiences and describe university studies or programs
  • Create complex sentences using relative pronouns (dont, que, qui)

Intermediate 3

This course is designed for students who have completed level B1 Intermediate 2 or been assessed prior to enrolling. In this course, students learn the vocabulary and language structures required to:

  • Discuss the media: understand press headlines and articles, and describe exceptional events
  • Take part in debates
  • Express and justify supporting or opposing opinions
  • Use the subjunctive to express goals and achievements (pour que, afin que)

Intermediate 5

This course is designed for students who have completed level B1 Intermediate 4 or been assessed prior to enrolling. In this course, students learn the vocabulary and language structures required to:

  • Give your opinion on various topics such as city life, education
  • Ask questions using different formats (closed questions, with interrogative words)
  • Understand the use of the present participle (ayant, étant, sachant, …)
  • Learn how to use indefinite pronouns (aucun, tout,…) as well as combined relative pronouns ( auquel, duquel,…)
