Alliance Members can join the French Choir CHANTEFIQUE . Af membership required.

CHANTEFIQUE, the Alliance Francaise choir, was established  4½ years ago and comprises approximately 30 people of all ages and varying abilities in speaking French. We are a friendly group , united by our love of music and  our affection for French culture. We sing at various events such as La Fete de la Musique, Bastille Day celebrations, the Beaujoulais arrival and of course Christmas festivites.

Our next performance is on March 27 at the French Film Festival Special Event at Palace Centro, James, Street, before the screening of The Well Digger's Daughter.

We rehearse every Friday at the Alliance from 3 to 5 after which we socialise with a glass of wine and nibbles and by sociable dinners from time to time. We are always keen to welcome new members, especially male voices to provide musical balance to the choir.

Chantefique choir seeks a pianist to accompany us every Friday afternoon 3pm-5.30pm at Alliance Française and at special event performances throughout the year.

About us:

We are Brisbane’s only French-singing choir. Born four and a half years ago. A happy enthusiastic group, our current repertoire embraces a diverse range of French classical ballads through to modern favourites. We rehearse at and work in close liaison with the French Alliance at West End. Your role:  To create the keyboard magic we need. To work with our Choir Director in polishing our current singing output; and to help take forward musically. For this, we offer you free choir membership, our deep appreciation and many happy times.
