If you need flexibility in order to accommodate a busy schedule or feel like you will benefit more from learning at your own pace, private instruction is probably the best solution for you. Private tuition can be organised for one, two, three or four students and can take place here at the Alliance, or at your home (this incurs a fee for the teacher’s travel costs).
Private classes are perfect for addressing specific needs, brushing up on existing skills, preparing for a specific occasion or enjoying conversation with a professional tutor and native speaker of French. Private lessons can be taken at any level of French from beginners to advanced.
Children and teens can also benefit from private lessons as an extra help for school or for those who simply want to learn French. When children are very young, parents can purchase 45 min sessions instead of 60 min ones.

Private tuition fees - online purchase click here
You can now purchase private lessons and travel fees online. Before doing so, you must have contacted us and organise your first lesson. If your lesson is held outside the Alliance you will have to buy travel fees as well, please ensure that you have established with Alliance which zone of travel fees you should purchase.
To purchase just click on one of the rates below and follow the instructions. Travel fees, if required, can only be purchased separatly.
We now offer generous discounted rates for students who wish to purchase block sessions of 5 or 10 hours instead of one-hour session at a time. Private lessons are valid 6 months from the date of purchase. All private tuition fees are payable in advance and in full before the lessons start.

If classes take place outside the Alliance Française de Brisbane, a travel fee for each session is payable by the student for the teacher. Travel fees per session are calculated from the Alliance in West End to where the lessons will be held. Each session held outside Alliance requires the purchase of one travel, if you buy a block of 10 sessions to be held outside Alliance you must also buy 10 travel fees.
Members receive 5% discount on travel fees. If you are a member the travel fees below will be automatically reduced in your shopping cart if you are logged in.

we offer the possibility of purchasing sessions or blocks of 45 minutes for minors only. Please ensure to contact us to organise your first lesson. Terms and Conditions
Please read the following terms and conditions carefully, and sign the Student Agreement below:
Payment policy: Students must specify the amount of hours they wish to commit to and pay for them up front. Purchased hours must be used within 6 months of the date of purchase.
Cancellation: We require at least 24-hour notice of cancellation in writing by email to info@afbrisbane.com and to the tutor. Students who fail to attend or to cancel 24 hours in advance will be charged the full amount. Monday classes must be cancelled by Friday 5.00 pm or the full amount will be charged for all the hour(s) scheduled on that day.
Private classes start and finish on the agreed time between tutor and student. If a student arrives late to a private lesson, the tutor may not be able to teach longer than the initial agreed time. If a student is running late, we appreciate a courtesy call.
We ask that parents, and not children nor teenagers, liaise with the tutor to schedule lessons.
If a student wishes to withdraw from private tuition altogether, the remaining hours are re-calculated according to their price range. The remaining tuition fees, minus 10% administration charge, can be refunded.
The Alliance Francaise de Brisbane reserves the right to change or alter these terms and conditions anytime.

Membership
Private tuition fees do not include membership to the Alliance. Membership is not compulsory but gives you a 5% discount on all AF courses, products, services and access to free activities.
