Retour En France

Discover Jennifer Long’s latest exhibition at the Alliance Francaise, Retour en France, showcases new works and revisits some familiar places in France. Images of grandeur and glimpses of everyday life delight and surprise the viewer. Opening on the Friday 7th of May 2010 at 6.30pm in our new premises, 262 Montague Road, West End.

From the Tuileries to Place des Vosges, San Chapelle to Versailles, the Marais and Montmartre, Lyons, Honfleur to Fontainebleu, she has captured moments in time which suggest a story unfolding or one to be told.

  

Jennifer last exhibited at the Alliance in George Street in 2005 and her exhibition Fragments was her first chance to depict images of life in France after a visit there in 2004. Since then she has had three solo exhibitions inspired by her travels and has visited France a number of times.

She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland and studied at the Brisbane College of Art and Brisbane Institute of Art.
There are 25 paintings in oil on canvas and linen and sizes range from 20cms to 120cms.
