Alliance Francaise French Film Festival
The Alliance Française French Film Festival
was a major success... again!
 |
After 15 days of the best of the latest releases from the French cinema industry, the Festival in 2010 has continued the trend of becoming bigger and more popular.
More than 12,000 attendences, which is greater than a 20 percent increase on the last Festival, is a clear sign of the significance that French films have for Brisbane audiences.

Alliance Française would like to thank our local and national sponsors.
Opening Night Gala
 |
The Festival began in grand style! The Festival started in high style with a very popular choice of opening film (Micmacs). It was followed by the now traditional Opening Night party. The party-goers enjoyed the fantastic food from Belle Epoque Restaurant and the music of Mzaza.

Showcase Events
The Festival went on with more than 80 screenings, and four showcase events that allowed the spectators to enjoy a lovely glass of French red or white Côtes du Rhône wine before seeing one of our selected movie.
The heartbreaking romance "You'll miss me" was a huge success with more than 200 attendances! |
School Screenings
Five screenings were dedicated to schools, like the hilarious "Little Nicholas" and "Trouble at Timpeltill".
Pedagigical activities were prepared for "Little Nicholas" so the children were able to discover the characters and
vocabulary from the movie while playing games.
Some students prepared very creative French labels with their names on it to win French prizes!

Closing Night This year's festival broke all the records, with more than 12 000 attendances in only 15 days!
To celebrate the end of this French cinema celebration, Cointrau offered all spectators a delicious glass of it's fabulous cocktails, and the very controversial movie "Serge Gainsbourg, une Vie Hérïque", based on the life of this French music icon, was screened, in two full cinemas! |
