For the Bastille day celebrations, the French Affair, in partnership with the Alliance Française de Brisbane is proud to present the French Affair Expo.
This will be an indulgent celebration of all things French, open to everyone and free.
Amidst the old world ambience and charm of The Old Museum, visitors to the Expo will delight in exploring all areas of French life:
Language, food, wine, fashion, beauty, home décor,
Travel, culture, books, cars, movies, language and more.
Browse the diverse range of stands, buy French products, enjoy a cup of coffee, sample some delicious pastries on sale and join the lively French conversation corner - beginners to native French speakers welcome.
A full range of activites and attractions will keep visitors entertained. Paris Dreaming, featuring renowned guitarist Ewan McKenzie, will perform in the French gypsy swing style, evoking the atmosphere of the Paris cafe scene of the 20th century.
In Montmartre style, a caricaturist will sketch visitor portraits. Mini-massages will revive tired shoulders. Hourly prize draws will be popular and the draw of the major prize of a $1,000 gift voucher from France @ Leisure will be the highlight of the day.
A French style market with a range of high quality fresh food produce will be a wonderful visual treat as visitors look out across the verandah.
