Alliance Française de Brisbane and QPAC present
Bastille Day
A free concert in the Cascade Court
The Grand Bal Populaire has grown as a significant event, and this year will become the large scale people's ball that was always envisioned.
Presented by Alliance Française and Queensland Performing Arts Centre, the Grand Bal Populaire will take place once again at QPAC’s Cascade Court and entry will be free.
This year, Alliance Française has organised an exclusive performance by the New Caledonian band Triban Klan.
The evening starts earlier at 5:30pm with QPAC's Jazz Friday.
At 8pm, Brisbane band Laïque will kick off the Bastille Day celebrations. Laïque embraces the ambience of the 1930's Paris jazz scene and infuses it with a fiery brew of European Gypsy grooves.
At 9:30, Triban Klan take to the stage with their distinctive fusion of a Kanak sound with soul, jazz, reggae, rock, blues...
This is a free concert, with no booking required.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase in the Cascade Court.
