2012 Competitions in Schools
 Song and Poetry competition
Le Concours de Chansons et de Poésie 2012 will be held on Saturday 25 August at Alliance française de Brisbane. According to their age, children have to sing a song or recite a poem in front of a jury usually composed of two French teachers. Songs and poems must be learnt by heart.
► WHO CAN PERFORM?
The competition is open to Prep to year 12 students of French :
- Prep to grade 4 students will perform a song chosen from the 2012 Song booklet.
- Grade 5 to 12 students will choose a poem from the 2012 Poem booklet OR the 2012 Edition spéciale booklet according to their year level.

► REGISTRATION DEALINE
The registration deadline is Friday 10 August 2012.
Please ensure you register your students by filling the file and send it back VIA EMAIL.
Please mail your payment to the Alliance by the same date.
No registration will be accepted without payment and no registration will be accepted after the closing date.
► FEES
Members: $7.12 if the school or teacher is a current member of the Alliance.
Non-members: $7.50
Any school enrolling 25 students and more will get a 10% discount.
► RESULTS AND PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to excelling students. Prizes include books, posters, cinema tickets, food vouchers, French products and many more. Students who perform very well will receive a "certificat de mention bien" and all participating students will receive a "certificat de participation". Results will not be mailed to school but will be available on the Alliance's website on Tuesday 28 August. Certificates of participation and prizes will be given out at the Prize giving ceremony on Friday 12 October.

► WHO CAN PERFORM?
Queensland Students of French from grade 5 to 12. According to their grade, students will choose the appropriate paper.

► STRUCTURE OF THE COMPETITIONS
► REGISTRATION DEALINE
The registration deadline and submission of the projects for the competitions is Friday 03 August 2012. Please ensure to email to the coordinator of the competition claireg@afbrisbane.com the completed registration form. Please send the projects of your students with the full payment before the deadline to:

No registration will be accepted without payment and no registration will be accepted after the closing date.
► IMPORTANT DATES
- Friday 03 August: closing date for registration and payments to the competitions.
- Monday 31 August: results to the first part of AD competition and final results for LaBF competition posted on AF website.
- Monday 10 or Tuesday 11 September: AD finalists will take the final exam at AF.
- Friday 12 October: Prize giving ceremony at 4.15pm for finalists and mentions. RSVP essential.

- Non-members: $9.50
Oral part for grade 11 and 12:

Members: $12.35 if the school or teacher is a current member of the Alliance

► RESULTS AND PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to excelling students (First, second and third prize). The best work for the Alain Duval competition will be rewarded by the prestigious Prix La Pérouse -a return airfare to New Caledonia sponsorised by the French government. The other prizes offered by our proud sponsors include books, subscription to French magazines, posters, cinema tickets, food vouchers, french products and many more.
Students who perform very well will receive a "certificat mention bien".
Certificates and prizes will be given out at the Prize giving ceremony on Friday 12 October.
