~ IF YOU WISH TO RECITE: Le Concours de Poésie 2010 will be on Saturday 4 September. It is opened to students of French from year 5 to 12. Students choose a poem from the booklet or the Edition spéciale booklet (above) according to their year level and recite it in front of a jury usually composed of two French teachers. Poems must be learnt by heart. The 2010 Edition will be held at Mansfield State High School.

Registration deadline for the traditional Concours de Poésie (recitation):Thursday 05 August 2010. Please ensure to register your students by filling the Excel file (see upper enrolment form) and to mail your payment to the Alliance by the same date. No registration will be accepted without payment and no registration will be accepted after the closing date.
Fees for the Poetry Competition: Members: $7.00 if the school or teacher is a current member of the Alliance Non-members: $10.00 A 10% discount applies to schools new to the competition in 2010 and who register at least 5 students.
Results and prizes: Prizes will be awarded to excelling students. Prizes include books, posters, cinema tickets, food vouchers and many more. Students who perform very well will receive a "certificat de mention bien" and all participating students will receive a "certificat de participation". Results will not be mailed to school but will be available on the Alliance's website mid-October. Teachers will be informed by e-mail of the results. Certificates of participation will be sent to schools in November. The Prize giving ceremony will be held on a date to be announced at the Alliance. Prizes can also be given at your school during your prizes ceremony. Please let us know if you wish us to come to your school for that occasion.
