La Belle France And Alain Duval Competitions
La Belle France is a competition opened to year 8, 9 and 10 students of French. The competition includes a quizz on French culture as well as a language and creative based task. This year we will celebrate the International Year of Biodiversity. Alain Duval is a competition opened to year 11 and 12 students of French. The competition includes quizz on French language and culture as well as a language and creative based task. Four main sections, sport (the 2010 Football World Cup, special report (2010: International Year of Biodiversity), culture (50th anniversary of Albert Camus' death) and climate (Global warming) will be covered under the form of a television news report.
Fees for the competitions : Members: $7.00 if the school or teacher is a current member of the Alliance Non-members: $10.00 A 10% discount applies to schools new to the competition in 2010 and who register at least 5 students. Registration deadline and submission of the projects for the competitions: Monday 09 August 2010 for La Belle France competition and Monday 23 August 2010 for Alain Duval competition. Please ensure to email to the coordinator of the competition claireg@afbrisbane.com the completed registration form. Please send the projects of your students with the full payment before the deadline to the following address. No registration will be accepted without payment and no registration will be accepted after the closing date.
Important dates for Alain Duval and La Belle France competitions:
- Monday 09 August: closing date for registration and payments to La Belle France competition. All students' works must also be sent by this date to the Alliance.
- Monday 23 August: closing date for registration and payments to Alain Duval competition. All students' works must also be sent by this date to the Alliance.
- Mid/End-September: results to AD and BF competitions sent via email to teachers. Date TBC - Early-October: AD finalists will take a final exam at AF. Date TBC - Friday 29 October 2010: Prize giving ceremony (4.15pm). RSVP essential.The certificate will be sent out to schools.
Results and prizes : Prizes will be awarded to excelling students (First, second and third prize). The best work for the Alain Duval competition will be rewarded by the prestigious Prix La Pérouse (a return airfare to New Caledonia sponsorised by the French government). The other prizes offered by our proud sponsors include books, subscription to French magazines, posters, cinema tickets, food vouchers and many more. Students who perform very well will receive a "certificat mention bien" .
