I was introduced to the French language in 1983 and since that time have actively pursued language studies, including one year of secondary school studies in France.

My enthusiasm for the French language is undisputed. Whilst my immersion and growth in this cultural domain has been a less formal path than the strict academic regime, my genuine intent to promote the French language and breadth of knowledge is attributed to diverse experiences including;

2000 Volunteer interpreter at the 2000 World Firefighters Games (WFG), France for the French Organising Committee and Australia Delegation, in the presence of Mr Stephen Robertson (former Emergency Services Minister) and Mr Wayne Hartley (former Chief Commissioner of the Qld Fire & Rescue Service).

2003 Established Global Fox Communications, providing event management, venue logistics, French language and tutoring services.

2003 Created “Club France Brisbane” the home venue for the South East Queensland-French Community during Rugby World Cup, obtaining support and sponsorship from key French businesses and Lady Jane Edwards (AM) Honorary Consul for France.

2004-05 Invited by Alliance Francaise to theme the opening night celebrations of Brisbane’s French Film Festival at Palace Centro, New Farm.

2004 Formed a Committee to create Brisbane’s inaugural 2004 French Festival. Planning, coordinating and liaising with venue management, government agencies, sponsors, exhibitors, suppliers, performers, entertainers, volunteers and committee members. Several thousand people attended the festivities.

2005 Invited to work with Bikestyle Tours in Europe following the prestigious Tour de France with a client delegation of 200 people. The primary role was to provide French language services, manage accommodation logistics, guided tours and resolve issues in the non-English speaking environment.

2005 Elected to the Alliance Francaise Management Committee. In 2006 appointed to the role of Secretariat.

This is now my forth-consecutive year contributing to the AFB Management committee in the capacity of Secretariat. I would welcome the opportunity to continue my voluntary service to the AFB; promote language studies, cultural activities, and contribute to business operational priorities and long term strategic goals.
